We have a broad range of skills and a wealth of experience providing innovative creative services for Adelaide and Australian businesses. Every staff member has at least one university qualification. We hire people who are fast learners, with diverse knowledge bases and excellent literacy skills.
We work in an open plan studio which allows for the quick exchange and development of ideas. Ideas are shared and refined to arrive at the best solution for your project.
We’ve been around since 1985 and we have very low staff turn over. We remember your project history so new projects benefit from earlier work. With a team of people there’s always someone available to make sure your deadline is met.
We keep everything. That’s not to say we condone hoarding, but we’ve got a lot of storage space. So when it comes to past projects we have a copy (over 30 years worth) permanently archived, and digital backups kept offsite.
We have our own photography studio for commercial photography, product photography and technical photography. We make display models, prototypes, architectural models and other trade display items in our industrial workshop.

Travis Crawford
Managing Director
Travis Crawford has more than fifteen years experience in all aspects of design. With a background in both graphic and product design Travis is responsible for overseeing projects and assembling the best team of in-house designers, ensuring that client expectations are met at all levels – creative, budget and production. He enjoys the great outdoors, in particular riding his ‘Dutchy’ along the Fleurieu Coast with his young family in tow.
Peter Brennan
Senior Digital Developer
Peter joined Icarus in 2000, finding a home creating websites. He likes to create solutions that will grow to fit with the needs of our clients and is fluent in several programming languages. In addition to a degree in Visual Communication, Peter also has an Honours Degree in Science, majoring in Molecular Biology. Outside of work Peter likes to race his go-kart, compete in athletics & help out with his kids’ soccer matches. Peter also recently restored his VW Kombi.
Allison Cale
Administration
Allie may well be the most organised person you will ever meet. She takes care of the administration side of things, keeping our office in the most orderly of fashions. Outside of Icarus, Allie likes to take Harvey (her RV) across Australia with her husband and two young boys.
Rob Wood
Senior Industrial Designer
Rob Wood is really tall. He’s also a skilled industrial designer, all 6’5″ of him. His experience includes the development of products from early conceptual ideation to fully detailed parts and components. He has broad knowledge of manufacturing, technology and production methods and extensive experience in computer-aided design. When not designing Rob is on his bike, clocking up huge numbers on Strava.
Chloe Grimes
Senior Graphic Designer
Chloe is a passionate graphic designer, digital designer and front-end website developer. Creative thinking and problem solving are some of her greatest strengths. She has experience in brand development, document layout, UX/UI design and animation. With a coffee in hand, she is always ready and eager to take on new projects. Outside of work, you will find her curled up with a good book and her cat Korra.
Steph Oxenham
Junior Graphic Designer
Steph is our youngest Icarian, having completed her Bachelor of Communication Design in 2021 with a Merit Award. She enjoys working on digital illustration work, as well as long page documents and publications – there is something about it that give great satisfaction once completed. Since working at the studio, Steph has also gained an interest in web design, learning how to develop designs and code them for on screen. When there is a spare moment, she loves to explore existing and award-winning designs, keeping her in the loop of the latest trends. In her free time, you can find Steph at the dance studio teaching as well as taking classes herself in a variety of styles. She also has a passion for Christmas lights and takes every opportunity during December to drive around Adelaide seeking out the perfect displays.
