10 Jun Icarus founder receives Member of the Order of Australia

Our very own founder and managing director, David Robertson, has received a prestigious award – a Member of the Order of Australia. After years of creation, innovation and implementation, David has been recognised for his extensive service to the design industry.

David’s passion for the design industry saw him open Icarus Industrial Design in 1985. You know you’ve been around for a while when some of your employees are younger than the business itself!

The Design Institute of Australia also benefited from David’s expertise as the National President, from 2000 to 2008.

There was much merriment around the office this morning, and we don’t often have an excuse to drink champagne before noon. We couldn’t be prouder of David for this fantastic achievement. Congratulations!
